John Rocha Ruffles The London Catwalks

Originating from Hong Kong, John Rocha has always used his roots as inspiration. His AW12 collection is no different; memories of Hong Kong’s Happy Valley Race Track ,providing a stimulating muse for the voluminous, intricate range floating down the catwalk.

Strong silhouettes burst onto the runway, setting up a strong flower inspired feel…perfect for a springtime catwalk. Oversized parachute dresses adorned with elaborate 3D floral blooms allowed Rocha’s complex and creative concepts to really provide a powerful show. The billowing balloon style jackets in tones of olive, gold and the signature, Rocha black, gave the audiences a preview of an attractive collection.

Overall the show was an array of contrasting and stimulating textures and shapes, with colour inspiration from Sean Scully’s famous striped canvases. The catwalk has shown yet another strong season for the veteran designer.
