Brazilian, Bruno Basso and British, Christopher Brooke are the creative duo behind the fashion label Basso & Brooke; pioneers of the digital print process in fashion. They secured themselves the prestigious Fashion Fringe Award when the made history in 2004 with their trademark, innovative 100% digitally printed collection.
The design duos work reached its most pivotal point when Michelle Obama donned one of their S/S 2009 pieces whilst giving a speech at the Whitehouse. Making Basso & Brooke one of the first British designers to clothe a First Lady; giving the team valuable time in the fashion spotlight.
Complimenting each other’s imaginative style, Bruno Basso creates his gravity defying patterns, while Christopher Brooke concocts the complex graphics that brings the designs to life.
Featuring at London Fashion Week since 2005, the latest collection to hit the A/W 12/13 runway was ahead of the field in the clashing print trend that is currently progressing. Their usual theatrical styling was not as prevalent, allowing the bold statement ‘Power to Print’ collection to express itself on the runway. Wearable unstructured and softer fluid shaped pieces woven into the collection allowed the audiences to relate to the collection, likely to boost the duo’s work in their ever rising success.
